Platform Engineer (w/m/d) - remote flexibel

Your Job

Are you a developer with good experience in managing cloud infrastructure or a DevOps engineer with a background in software development? This is what you do on a daily basis: 

• You update, upgrade and operate the business critical infrastructure all products at Europace are built upon.

• You abstract away all the nitty gritty details of infrastructure, enabling our developers to take responsibility for operating their workloads without being DevOps experts.

• You work on our products, create ideas, run proof-of-concepts and experiments to figure out what to build to make our products more secure, more reliable, more efficient and easier to use. 

• You write code to automate recurring tasks, feed data into the data lake, or implement an infrastructure service. Sometimes on your own, sometimes in a pairing session, never without a code review.  

• You propose, discuss, and make technical decisions with the team via architectural decisions record or RFCs.

• You are part of our working hours on-call duty rotation, answering requests from developers, fixing bugs, and taking care of alerts. You help solve our own and our users' incidents. 

• You support other teams using our products by joining them to migrate their workloads, setting up Auto Scaling and Zero-downtime deployments for their services, teaching them how to effectively use our observability stack for troubleshooting.

We are looking for a person with a strong background in software development or as a DevOps engineer: 

• You have good technical leadership skills or are seeking an opportunity to learn and grow.

• You feel confident working on code and with technologies you have not touched before. You consider this an opportunity to grow and get better.

• You consider pairing sessions, retrospectives, talking to developers, product managers, customer support, and commercial people figuring out their needs an essential part of your work. Software development is a social activity.

• You enjoy working in a team where everyone challenges each other, working on achieving goals together, continuously improving the process and collaboration.

• You have hands-on-experience with AWS and Kubernetes. Bonus for production experience with CNCF projects & tools.

• You have experience managing infrastructure as code and how to continuously deploy changes. Plus if you already build self-services using IaC. 

• You value quality documentation and you strive to write high quality documentation for your work as well.

• You feel comfortable working in a distributed remote team. Plus if you already worked in such an environment and know how to work asynchronously.
